Straightface is still very much in a start-up growth phase. All funds go back into the business to grow the business more. There is a little expression you have all probably heard in business -
Fail Fast
I don't love it. It is snappy and short, which helps sell the slogan but I don't think failure is what we are after. I prefer Learn as quickly as possible. However, I acknowledge that it doesn't really have the same ring to it.
Failure is not a bad thing, but I think the goal should be about learning. No one knows everything. The goal is to learn not to fail.
We are trying to make a shaving gel. We worked with one supplier and it never got quite right so we are moving on to work with another supplier. It is not ideal but its part of the improvement process.
Speed is relative
Fast doesn't tell you anything, fast compared to what? We want to learn as quickly as possible. With unlimited money and resources we could learn very fast. With out current limited money and resources we can not learn as fast. Comparing on situation to the other is not a fair or accurate way to measure our progress.
We are working on some new videos for YouTube and social media. If we had a huge budget we would be at the front of the line with all the parties we are dealing with. But, that is not the case. Hopefully next week I will see the first edits.
Moment of Gratitude
This one is still around my health. I am still not over the biological onslaught that those small kids inflicted on me. But, I am feeling much better.
It doesn't matter how rich you are, how famous you are, how influential you are, if you don't have your health then you don't have anything.
Shave well, be awesome, look after yourself in these wintery times, and if you can, look after someone else.
